I’m studying Japanese and I have used the Kaishi 1.5k deck, but a month or so ago I downloaded my progress and deleted the deck from Anki, because the deck didn’t have cards that give you the audio clue (I like to draw the kanji in the air to learn how to write them by hand). So I’ve been reading the Anki manual and cannot understand if what I want to do is 1) even possible, and if it is 2) how to do it.
I basically want to take the existing Kaishi cards, duplicate them in bulk, and change the card type for the duplicated cards in bulk. So in the end, I’d have two cards per note: one with the original visual cue and one with the audio as a clue. Is there a way to do this en masse or is the only option to do it card by card?
En masse is the right way to do it. You just need to add another card type to your note type, and edit the front and back templates to show/play what you want. Anki will make that 2nd card for every one of your notes.
This really helped me and I finally figured out how to do it. Had to increase the limit to get the audio cards to finally appear, but at least the I didn’t screw up the whole process!!
