Well in a single word Yes it changes stuff a little bit if you miss a card.
You will see those cards quite frequently, however, the noticeable change will come when you miss the card quite often. The basic change you will notice is that those missed cards are showing up faster than usual and definitely it is not optimal for learning cards. Moreover, if you continue to miss cards then it will eventually lead to EaseHell.
If you really don’t get time to complete the current-day cards you can change anki’s settings to adjust it accordingly, and it’s never recommended to miss a card.
