I can see the account connected to the email address you used to post here. It was created in 2023, but it’s been inactive for several years, and is now empty.

Before you can start using that account again, you need to verify the email address, so check your inbox for that message.

Thank you. It doesn’t help alas. I cannot use my former adress anymore. Ankiweb asks me to change my address email, which I do, but apparently I caannot change both my address and my keyword.

BON…

[No need to open multiple threads for the same issue.]

The usual way to change your email address is on your account settings page – https://ankiweb.net/account/settings . Since you’ve waited long enough that you need to verify your address first, and you can’t do that anymore – you’ll probably have to let that account go.

If you still have your collection on your own device(s), you won’t lose anything.

  • Create a new AnkiWeb account for your new address.
  • Set up syncing with that account on your device that has the most current version of your collection.
  • On the initial one-way sync, upload to AnkiWeb.
  • Then you can set up syncing with that account on your other devices, and choose download from AnkiWeb.
  • [Before you do this – do yourself a favor and go to Preferences > Check Media > Delete Unused Media. That will save you the time and effort of syncing unnecessary media to the server and your other device.]

When that’s all done, you should delete your old AnkiWeb account if you can (and make sure the credentials are not cached in your browsers/password lists), so it won’t confuse you in the future.

If you do not still have your collection on any of your devices –

The chance of recovering anything is unlikely. As I said, the data was removed years ago from the account that I can see. You would have been sent notification that was going to happen, but if you’d already lost contact with the email address by then, you wouldn’t have gotten that.

But you’re describing an account you’ve had for 10 years, and the account that I’m looking at – which matches your email address here – was only created 3 years ago, and doesn’t look like it was ever used. If you think there’s another account out there that might still have your data, you should DM us @ moderators with what email address might be used for that account. That’s the only way I could possibly try to find it.

Mille merci Danika 2 fois :slightly_smiling_face:
