Unable to access anki web

I have been using Anki as a student for a while. I created my account with my school-issued email address, which has been deleted 2 months ago. I still have my passwords, but I can’t log into my ankiweb account anymore since it requires an e-mail verification. What can I do to retrieve all my decks ?

I can see the AnkiWeb account connected to the (non-school) email address you used to post here. Do you have another account besides that?

yes, the email in question is : e23013@nd-grandchamp.fr

The usual way to change your email address is on your account settings page – https://ankiweb.net/account/settings . If you’ve waited long enough that you need to confirm your address first, and you can’t do that anymore – you’ll probably have to let that account go.

But you should still have your collection on your own device(s), so you won’t lose anything.

  • Create a new AnkiWeb account for your new address (which you’ve already done). Make sure you choose an email address that you have permanent access to.
  • [Before you proceed – do yourself a favor and go to ⚙️ Preferences > Check Media > Delete Unused Media. That will save you the time and effort of syncing unnecessary media to the server and any other devices.]
  • Set up syncing with that new account on the device that has the most current version of your collection.
  • On the initial one-way sync, upload to AnkiWeb.
  • Then you can set up syncing with that account on any other devices, and choose download from AnkiWeb.

When that’s all done, you should delete your old AnkiWeb account if you can (and make sure the credentials are not cached in your browsers/password lists), so it won’t confuse you in the future.
