Japanese Kanji from Tokini Andy

I tried to download Anki from this link
ToKini_Andy_N5_10_Kanji_Deck_v1.0 (1).zip

I got an Error Message saying it is not compatable with my Macbook Air.
Please advise

It’s a zip file. Which could mean a few different things –

  1. It’s not an importable deck package apkg. It’s just a copy of someone’s deck database that they zipped up. You’re going to have to find the deck from another source in the correct format if you want to import it.
  2. Someone changed the extension on the file for good reasons, like so that whatever service they were using to share it would recognize/accept it. You just need to add .apkg to the end of the filename, and you should be able to import it.
  3. Someone changed the extension on the file for bad reasons, like to disguise what it actually is, and you should delete it from your system.

As you can see – it’s hard to tell the difference between #3 and the others, so you really have to consider whether you trust the source of this deck before you do anything else.

If you trust the source, since it’s a zip, you can look inside it. Does it look more like this? – That’s #1.
