Importing a premade deck to my anki app

I am trying to import a premade deck to my account and it is not working. I first click import, then I click the file in my downloads to import, then this page comes up where it says “import options”. I click on the blue import button at the top and then it brings me to an error page that says “500: Is a directory (os error 21).” My mac is updated to the latest version, 14.6 and my Anki is version 24.06.3.

Please let me know what is wrong or what I should fix to successfully import a file.

That error suggests it’s not what Anki and macOS are expecting it to be (that it’s a directory, not a file). Where did you get the premade deck from? Is it an APKG packaged deck, or something else?

Another user reported this in the past, but they have not responded: Ankiでデッキをインポートしようとするとエラーが出ます。

The importing screen colors also look wrong in your screenshots, which I’m not seeing here. Please make sure add-ons aren’t involved: When problems occur - Frequently Asked Questions

I got the deck from a reddit post. It is an APKG packaged deck.

Have you tried the things in the Troubleshooting Checklist that dae posted above?

Even though it ends in apkg, are you sure it is one? Did you check with the person who posted it, or the others who downloaded it to see if there are known issues?

If someone changed the extension – please be careful. It might have been done for harmless/naive reasons, and it’s fine – but it could also be for troubling reasons, like to disguise what it actually is, and you should delete it from your system.
