I think the following message can be quite ambiguous.
Automatic syncing and backups have been disabled while restoring. To enable them again close the profile or restart Anki.
Some ideas:
Automatic syncing and backups have been disabled. After you have restored from a backup, close the profile or restart Anki to enable them again.
Anki will not sync and backup your collection while you’re restoring from a backup. After you have restored from a backup, close this profile or restart Anki to enable the features again.
Syncing automatically and creating automatic backups have been disabled for now. Those features will be enabled again once you close your profile or restart Anki.
The advantages are:
It’s clear that the backup is applied.
It’s clear that the creation of automatic backups have been disabled (it’s confusing to see a message saying “backups have been disabled” after restoring from a backup).
It clearly indicates when those features are enabled again (without user intervention).
Though I’m not really happy with the above version. Maybe something like this instead:
Backup successfully restored.
Automatic syncing and automatic backup creation have been disabled for now. These features will be re-enabled once you close your profile or restart Anki.
