Improve Workflow for Learning Newly Encountered Words in AnkiMobile

It’s a common situation where I come across a new word in daily life and want to learn it right away.
However, the process in AnkiMobile feels too tedious. It would be very helpful if you could add the following features:

  1. In the Edit view, provide an extra button to view and change the flag.
  2. Allow users to select new cards with a specific flag during a custom learning session.

IYDK you can already do that with a search like: is:new flag:2

Flags are applied at the card-level. But in Edit, you’re adding/editing a note. That note can result in any number of cards, so it wouldn’t make sense to have Flag ability in that screen. What you can do in that screen is apply Tags – at the note-level. See if maybe that’s would suit your needs. Adding/Editing - Anki Manual

Custom Study is just a short list of ways you can make a Filtered deck. But pretty much anything you can search for, you can build a Filtered deck for. To get a Filtered deck like that, you can search is:new flag:X , or if you’re following the advice to use Tags instead, is:new tag:X.
