How to Force Card into Learning

I need to be able to search and select a new card in Browse, then immediately learn it. There does not seem to be an option for this, which is odd.

I tried flagging and making a filtered deck, but it doesn’t remember that I did it after it’s returned to the main deck.

Subdeck doesn’t work either, since the queue gets big as I add things, and then I’m still left with the same problem.

Reschedule skips the learning steps (why is that a thing?).

So how do I search for a card and learn it right away, in iOS?

Flagging and making a filtered deck should work provided you’re using the 2.1 scheduler, and you have not disabled rescheduling in the filtered deck options. The Anki 2.1 scheduler - Frequently Asked Questions
