I can't close Anki

Hi,

I have been having this problem with my Anki the past few weeks. I am unable to close my Anki window. The window is stuck as seen in the image attached. I am unable to access any part of the menu. Pressing the ‘X’ does nothing. I have restarted my computer. I have even uninstalled the program, and this window is remaining on my screen. If anyone has any advice, please, I would love to hear it.

The “Processing” window doesn’t stay on your screen through a restart or an uninstall, does it? That would be a much more serious issue.

I suspect you’ve got an issue with an add-on that’s hanging.

Go through the Troubleshooting Checklist – Troubleshooting - Anki Manual .

After you’ve tried all that (even the things that you don’t think could be related), if you need more help, give us the following details –

  • What are you doing/trying to do when this window pops up?
  • Go to Help > About – click “Copy Debug Info” and paste that entire result here.

Either that or OP is using one of the early “launcher” betas. They had this issue on import and export. Dae pushed a fix after I reported it.

Their version information should help answer that question then.
