I’m not sure if the Anki Add-On Creator Glutaminate is still active, but an update to his pop-up dictionary would be amazing! https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/153625306
There hasn’t been a Zoom Ankiweb Add-On yet that allows us to change the zoom while previewing cards in browse mode. Previewing cards is a good way to review the deck before suspending and unsuspending cards. I like your current add-on (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1923741581) but being able to Zoom during Preview mode would be great.
Auto-advance in Preview mode.
Also, an auto-advance feature for “Preview” mode in Browse setting would be very helpful as well. The current Speed Focus Mode (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1046608507) and Auto Advance don’t allow auto-revealing cards when previewing them in browse mode.
It looks like you did some work on Leech Toolkit. Did the original developer eventually fix the main branch so it’s not currently necessary to use your fork?
I’m using the main branch and some features are working for me but others are not. I submitted a few tickets on the Github but could submit some more if you or the developer wanted to work on ironing out the bugs. I would be thrilled if I could get all the features working as intended.
It seems like you are aware of the lapse to review ratio idea since you contributed to the thread where it was discussed. I would also be interested in that functionality. It seems like this new feature is somewhat more complicated to code but potentially doable.
Developing new features and new add-ons is not as fast as repairing, simply put I am always developing something new, but I have a lot of ideas I want to develop.
Mind Mapping Add-On For AnkingDeck and decks in general With Toggle Function
The Anking Deck is great! It has many images and notes to help people understand concepts and charts.
It would be great if a mind mapping add-on linked all the charts so people can view them simultaneously as a mind map with dots (representing each card) and toggle each dot (for Lecture Notes, First Aid, Sketchy, etc. sections of each note) to see more images like charts related to UWorld and images related to Sketchy, Pathoma, Pixorize, etc. As people scroll over the dots, they can see what each dot represents.
The Contanki add-on supported 8BitDo Micro controller with its Beta 22 update. The 8BitDo Micro controller worked on Contanki a few months ago. The current version doesn’t support the 8BitDo Micro controller. It’s even missing from the add-on’s controllers folder on Github. Also, the import feature for button settings is also missing on the current version of Contanki.
The buttons folder in the Github page for Contanki still has buttons for the 8BitDo Micro controller. It would be great if the 8BitDo Micro controller could work again on Contanki. It would also be great if the import feature for button settings on Contanki worked again.
You can request new ideas from me (yep I like them), but enhancement of add-ons whose authors are active is a much lower priority. So if you want them, I recommend sending new feature requests to the original author.
To explain a little, enhancing the functionality of someone else’s add-on requires an understanding of how the add-on works, so the workload is high. The original author knows their own add-ons, so adding new features is easy. In short, my original add-ons and simple add-ons are more likely to be able to develop new features.
The Closest addon has been so helpful in letting me create effective cards with multiple features while just using one card template.
Last I checked, the owner wasn’t updating any features/ providing fixes (apologies if that’s no longer the case). There’s a bit of a grass roots effort to keep the addon alive and the forum had folks trying to help each other out. I’m sure they’d love any input you may have!
It seems that someone has already uploaded a repaired version in the comments on the Add-on page. It is possible to reupload it to make it easier for users to download. Fixing some of the problems reported on the Forums seems a bit difficult, this Add-on is advanced.
The last reply was last year, but the author of this add-on is politely replying to comments, so I guess they will respond later. The last activity seems to be around January of this year.
Since I’m a Windows user Mac bugs are hard to fix, but occasionally I debug for Mac so I’ll look into it then.
The L-M-Sherlock who is replying is the developer of the FSRS algorithm and FSRS helper, he is addressing the issue. I don’t know the precise details, but it may be resolved in the next Anki update.
As you’re interested in new ideas for add-ons, I’ll mention one thing I use regularly from a different app. Some app called jidoujisho (自動辞書) have this feature where it does a bing image search for the text in a particular field. You export the card to Anki then. Useful for language learners who create their own cards.
