I want to create a deck for myself. It is for Japanese. I use the core 2k/6k optimized deck, but I want to spice it up with Minecraft. I see it as an opportunity, I play the game all the time, so why don’t I utilize it. I was looking into the Japanese Support add on to see how may I create my own deck and still utilize the add-on. I saw it adds 3 note types. But for some reason I had deleted them?? A stupid decision indeed. I think they might be useful, so I want them. I tried to reinstall the add-on, but the note types didn’t come back.
I can certainly do without them, but I want to see what they are at least. There is the note type that core deck uses, but it is a bit too much for my case. I am on Linux, if that helps in any way.
Did you try deleting the add-on and adding it again fresh?
Yes. I deleted it from the add-on menu, restarted the anki, added the add-on again, restarted again. I checked the files too, and the add-on file is definitely getting deleted and reinstalled, so a fresh installation is present. I saw a notetypes.py there. I want to quote:
This add-on provides three note types:
Japanese (recognition): will present a Japanese expression for the question, and show you the reading and meaning on the back
Japanese (recognition&recall): in addition to the first card, it will also present a card that shows you the meaning and requires you to remember the expression and reading.
Japanese (optional recall): will always add recognition, and add a recall card too if you put any text in the “Add Recall” field
Those seem to be absent for me. I created my own note type and I am using it now, but this issue is annoying me.
I found it. I just gotta go to manage and then add. It was there as a template. It is the same as the one I made, apparently. I was expecting it to appear into the note types as an active choice.
