Add-on for new note type

Hi there,

I created a note type for multiple choice questions which - imo - turned out quite nice. That’s why I want to share it with the community.

I know of add-ons (e.g. Multiple Choice for Anki, Cloze Overlapper) that add new note types to Anki without doing much else. As I have never created an Anki add-on nor have any background in coding (apart from some basic JS used for the note type) I have one questions:

How does one create an Anki add-on that just adds my note type to the collection of note types of another person?

You can simply share your deck with the person. Make a deck with just one dummy card if sharing the note type is the goal. Then you can share this deck on AnkiWeb.

I know. That’s how I have done it so far, but I’d like how anki add-ons work and thought this might not be too difficult to do :slight_smile:
