This problem is both on my PC and my phone.
Almost consistently, some of my decks keep losing cards and Anki shows me no cards when I browse but I never have deleted them and even when I import the deck again it says the cards exist but I cannot see, use them, nor can I study ahead.
This is extremely frustrated and I need a quick fix or I will just migrate to another platform as this is ridiculous.
What’s happened for SOME of my cards that have been deleted, is they used to be in categories but now they are in one overall deck which I want to change back to when they were categorised.
That’s a prime indication that they are not being deleted, and you just might need some suggestions about how to find them.
Can you say more about what you mean by that? Anki doesn’t have “categories” and to properly answer you, I think we’ll need to know what you’re referring to.
Knowing where you are looking and not finding the cards will probably also help – feel free to post screenshots about where you’re not seeing what you expect.
If the main Decks list is the place you’re not seeing cards, I think you’re confused about what that list shows. It’s not a list of all of your cards that exist – it’s a list of the cards available for you to study right now.
