Current Behavior (Not-ideal UX)
When typing a field in the Note Editor that matches an existing note, the field turns red to warn of a duplicate, but there is no direct way to view the duplicate. Users have to back out of the Add Note screen, open the Card Browser, and manually type in the search query.
Proposed Improvement (Similar to Anki Desktop)
Add a “Show Duplicates” clickable action in the Note Editor when a duplicate is detected. Tapping it should launch the Card Browser pre-populated with the search query for that duplicate field value. This matches Anki Desktop behavior, as shown in the below screenshot.
Workflow
- User enters text into a field in the Note Editor.
- AnkiDroid detects a duplicate and highlights the field in red.
- A “Show Duplicates” link/button appears near the field.
- Tapping it opens CardBrowser showing the existing duplicate card(s).
