Error sending request for url ()

Relevant info:

1. Windows 10, I did not update my OS or change any Internet-related settings
2. I’m using Anki 24.10 RC2 (898c9128). Downgrading to RC1 (8d9251e7) doesn’t help
3. I am not using a proxy
4. Syncing was working just fine yesterday, same Anki version, same everything
5. Add-ons can be updated, so this problem is related to syncing but not add-ons…somehow
6. Everything other than Anki is working fine
7. None of the topics with “Error sending request for url ()” (which seems to be happening since at least 2021) contained a working solution
8. Rebooting my PC doesn’t help

Also having this issue. Getting time out errors whenever the app tries to sync on both mobile (Apple) and Windows 10. No changes, no add-on changes. Everything was working last at 4:30 PM EST when my last study session ended. AnkiWeb site also appears to be down, cannot load the site at all.

Edit: This is the error I get on my desktop. Switched to mobile hotspot did not work. Tried 5G network on mobile, also did not work.

Issue syncing cards

One of the servers developed a hardware issue overnight. I managed to migrate most user accounts over to a different server before it died completely, so most affected users may find the issue goes away if they log out and then sync again. The handful of remaining users may need to wait a few hours I’m afraid, as the drives are currently being rehoused in a new machine. Edit: it’s back online now, so you shouldn’t need to log out.
