Error message on startup of anki desktop

whenever i try and open anki this message appears

my cards are still opening but im worried that something has gone wrong and i want to prevent losing my cards in the future, does anyone know what this is/how to fix it?


Your collection should be fine if you have it synced to AnkiWeb.

Does this happen all the time? Have you restarted your computer? Maybe there is an Anki session open in the background. I would suggest restarting your computer if you haven’t and checking if it happens again.

hi! ive restarted my computer a few times and the message is still popping up every time unfortunatley, but i have synced my collection

Try shutting down file syncing / antivirus software on your system if you have any.

ive tried to stop anti-virus things getting in the way with popups etc, is there a way to keep antivirus software on my laptop and still stop this message coming up?

I have got Norton 360 anti-virus software installed on my laptop, is there a way to get it to allow anki?
