Anki Trouble Shooting issues

Hello,

I’ve recently run into a problem every time I open Anki (version 25.02) on my Windows laptop where a pop-up appears saying “Anki has encountered a problem. Please follow the troubleshooting steps”, with the below options being: “troubleshooting”, “copy debug info” , and “close”.

I did recently download an add-on (Image Occlusion Enhanced from Anki Web), which is when the issue started, deleted it to fix this issue, and yet the problem continues to persist. I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps, including restarting my laptop, checking my database, addons, video driver, resetting windows size etc., but nothing seems to be working.

As long as I press the “close” button when the issue pop-up appears, It seems as though I can still edit+ sync my decks just fine, but its just confusing with the pop-ups.

Any help/tips would be appreciated!

  1. Did you go through everything in the Troubleshooting Checklist – Troubleshooting - Anki Manual ?
  2. When you restart in safe mode, does this still happen?
  3. What are you doing when each of these errors pops up?
  4. Go to Help > About – click “Copy Debug Info” – paste that entire result here when you respond.
