Hi,
I can’t enter special characters (i. e. äöëß) in Anki. Entering them anywhere else on the system works.
More info: I use a system keyboard layout to enter those via < right Alt (AltGr) + letter >.
Of course I tried googling the subject but to no avail.

This is an issue with the toolkit Anki uses, and using an international keyboard layout can work around it: Adding/Editing - Anki Manual
Thank you for the reply. That really is a shame, especially with Anki being such a good way to learn languages. This isn’t a full solution, as I cannot type “fluently” with the suggested way of entering special chars. Now I not only need to learn the language, but also a way to enter it - which is another thing to overcome.
But I also image that changing the toolkit would be very hard.
EDIT: It turns out I can type special chars in the “tags” field (when adding a new note) just fine!
