I have used Anki for years and never had a problem. Now, I just downloaded the latest Anki desktop version (25.09) and I am getting this strange encoding problem on the card detail view. The card overview table is fine - see screenshot.

Update: I solved the problem by setting the font from “Arial” to “Hiragino Sans“ everywhere, espacially in every field of my note types. I don’t know if that’s the best solution, but maybe this info helps someone encountering a similar problem.
Apparently, there’s a macOS issue where the Arial font somehow gets broken. You might also want to try removing the Arial font files and then restoring fonts: Latest macOS font compatibility - #8 by PeterH

Yup, this completely solved the problem (there were still some question marks left on my kanji’s stroke order diagram). After resetting the macOS system fonts, it works again.
