Do you know why when I selected on decks type “type the answer” they actually work like a basic card?

Hi !
I am new on ankiweb and i used a IPad Air 4, and a friend learn me how to use it…
But for now we doesn’t understand why when I selected on decks the type “type in the answer” they actually work like a basics Cards :frowning:
Do you know how to fixe it ?
Cause I need it for my revisions…

Thank you for reading this message, while waiting for your response

Sorry, but type-answer fields are not supported on AnkiWeb – Field Replacements - Anki Manual . You need to use one of the apps for that – https://apps.ankiweb.net/ .

Thanks

Is there a specific reason to this?

Depending on what @User6 needs, it should be possible to write a little bit of html and js and put that into the card templates – so if just the current implementation of {{type:field}} is the issue, but not the actual underlying code (<input>), then it should be doable.

I just don’t think it was ever implemented.

Type answer boxes will not be displayed when you review your cards on ankiweb.net.

Sure, if you add some other sort of text input field that persists to the other side of the card and lets you compare you answer on your own, I have no reason to think that wouldn’t work on AnkiWeb. I’ve never tried it myself, but a few solutions that others have offered for that:

For the sake of completeness, the up-to-date version of that template is located here:

This one specifically focuses on fixing interface issues with AnkiWeb the previous versions had and now should provide a functioning solution for type-in (including error highlights in submitted answer), multiple-choice, and cloze cards in different browsers:

This is a dev branch though, so some things are still waiting to be ironed out before a proper relese.
