I am having an issue on the Anki desktop app when I try and sync my decks. When I press Sync, it gives me the error message saying, “Please sync again. If this message keeps appearing, please post on the support site”.
I have tried finding a solution to this on other threads but nothing has worked for me. Is there a way to fix this?
Can you at least tell us what you’ve tried, so we don’t waste your time suggesting the same things over again?
It also might be good to know what things changed just before this happened.

The main solution I found was in a thread that recommended to go to Tools > Check Media> and then delete unused media. This did not do anything for me.
I don’t have any idea what could have caused this, it sort of just happened one day. I was mainly using ankiwebb for a couple weeks then I opened the desktop app and tried to sync and that is when I started getting the error.
A couple more things to try – both in Preferences - Anki Manual –
- Disable media sync and sync again. Do you still see the error?
- Log out of syncing, and then sync to log back in. Do you still see the error?
Okay so I tried both of those options individually and together, along with completely closing anki after making changes. Nothing seemed to fix it, still the same error.
Try running Anki from a terminal window and see if there are any errors on startup when it tries to sync. Startup Issues - Anki Manual
