Because one cannot schedule new cards, I give them an interval of 1!, and then ‘Set-Due-Date’ them to, say, the 3rd quarter of the next 12 months (180-270).
After this has been done, is there a way to show these cards in the Browser?
(I.E. cards that had their due dates set manually, rather than by the algorithm)
Presumably you’ve already figured out that using Set Due Date on New cards causes them to skip the Learn state – and you’re happy with that compromise.
Since these were fresh New cards, even after the SDD, they should still have 0 countable reviews, so try is:review prop:reps=0. I don’t have any cards to try it on, but that seems like it could work. Searching - Anki Manual
Of course, the other way to schedule cards is to introduce them at a steady pace with your daily New card limit. A plan that involves resetting the cards later seems like you’ll be wasting efforts in the short-term and long-term.
While creating heaps of new cards for later use, I have a precise idea as to WHEN EXACTLY they need to be introduced; but this schedule is quickly forgotten; so these cards need to be scheduled then and there …
It’s NOT about a steady pace. Different cards are needed at different times, plus, the REAL waste is repping similar cards during the same week/month (I do retire cards after they reach a certain interval).
