Card not showing answer + Lag

Recently, anytime I press the spacebar to show my answer, it lags and freezes on the blank card, as seen here:

I’ve waited a few minutes and it doesn’t go away. I have tried restarting anki, restarting my computer, syncing everything, deleting some add-ons that I’m not using, and I’ve done Tools → Check Database, and tools → Check media → delete unused media

Every card does not have this issue, it happens once every few cards, but it happens with every deck I have. For reference I am running a 2021 MacBook Air w/ M1 running Sonoma 14.4.1. The Anki I am running is listed as:
“Version ⁨23.12.1
Python 3.9.15 Qt 6.5.3 PyQt 6.5.3”

At #6 on that same checklist – you might want to check on your video driver too.

I have updated my anki to the latest version:
“Version ⁨24.04.1 (ccd9ca1a)⁩
Python 3.9.18 Qt 6.6.2 PyQt 6.6.1”
And I changed my video driver from the default to OpenGL
I suspended all my add-ons, only bringing back what I needed slowly.

And then this happened, which is a completely different issue than before lol

This happened when I edited a card.
EDIT: this happened when I enabled Review Heatmap, I have disabled it currently and seems to not be glitching as bad

At #6 on that same checklist – you might want to check on your video driver too.

So, you’ve eliminated 2 of them – what about the others?
