I have just downloaded Anki the desktop and the ankidroid version, my Anki does not let me check my deck even though I did some cards yesterday. Now every time I try and use my deck I get the message “Congratulations! You have finished this deck for now”. I have changed the card limit to 9999 and have changed the values to the custom study feature to 9999, however I still get the same message. Can any one help with this asap?
But how do I bypass the limit? i have changed the values but nothing is working
If you’re not here for SRS, try filtered decks.
Filtered Decks & Cramming
New Cards/Day
Maximum Reviews/Day
what is srs?
Oh I see, no I am not here for that. Its just that I want to use anki as I barely did any cards yesterday (I am very new to the app, only downloaded it yesterday). So I am quite confused on how I would use the links you sent to fix the problem.
Are you certain that you have cards due? Or, are your cards unsuspended? Are they ready to be studied? Is this a deck you made yourself, or a pre-made deck?
Make sure you understand the Studying workflow in Anki – Studying - Anki Manual .
Yesterday, you introduced New cards, and graduated them to Review, so they have due dates for when they will be ready to study again. Today, you’ll get another allowance of New cards and do the same. If any cards you introduced yesterday are due today, Anki will show them to you – if not, it won’t. It doesn’t matter how high you raise the limits if there aren’t any cards available.
This also could be a misunderstanding about how parent-deck/subdeck limits interact, so you might want to tell us more about that if you have subdecks.
Woah, so from what I’m understanding anki essentially creates assignments for you in which you are to finish a set number of cards at a certain date depending on how you answered them previously?
Yes, right. It’s scheduling your study so that you can focus on the “studying” part instead of trying to manage your revisions.
That’s sick, so then what happens if I need to review a certain deck even though I don’t have the cards on that deck due?
Yeah, it’s pretty sick!
Nice reference you got in there. Definitely a read
Do I have to create a whole new deck to make a filtered deck or can I use a deck I already have and turn it to a filtered deck?
You’ll have to create new deck. Cards in filtered deck need a “home deck” so if you delete the original after pulling cards in, the cards will get deleted.
It’s not done quite either of those ways. The Filtered deck itself is a new temporary deck that you use to pull a group of cards together for extra studying. But you don’t need to create a new regular deck first (contrary to the response above), and you don’t turn your regular deck into a Filtered deck. Take a look at the instructions in the manual and give it a try.
They asked whether they can turn their current deck into filtered deck. I said you’ll have to create a new one.
