Can ANKI tell me UPTO WHICH YEAR OR DATE ANKI 2.1.65 VERSION will be functional?

PLEASE ANKI , HELP ME

ANKI 2.1.65 Version is SO PERFECT FOR ME! WORKING VERY FINE

latest version 23.10.1 is not working fine in MY WINDOWS 11 , HAVING BUGS , every card is processing so LONG , while editing or while doing reviews , showing AGAIN AND AGAIN “PROCESSING” WINDOW :sweat: :sob: :sob:

Please tell me , UPTO HOW MANY MONTHS i can use the ANKI 2.1.65 (2023,MAY release) ?

PLEASE HELP i am afraid

You didn’t give any details. What actions are you performing in Anki when the Processing window appears?

You can downgrade to version 2.1.66 if you prefer:

I HAVE EDITED MY CARD , AFTER THAT ITS COMING FOR HOURS , I AM JUST FRUSTATED,

but after downgrading to 2.1.65 version , ITS WORKING FINE !

but i am concerned that this previous version 2.1.65 version will STOP ONE DAY !

SO WHAT I WILL DO , i have MLE EXAM :disappointed_relieved:

You can stick with your current version as long as you like.

Try 2.1.66, it was released in August, which was only a few months ago.

that means I CAN STICK to 2.1.65 (2023 MAY released) /older version

ANKI will not stop the WORKING of this old VERSION

right ??

There will come a time when a combination of Anki version/operating system/add-ons will no longer work or suits your needs. This will probably not be a problem for this version in the next year or the year afterwards.

and run as ubuntu.

i just turned into self-sync server.
i could play with myself forever as long as i want.

i am on 2.1.60.
i am quite conservative too.
isn’t ITs have a rule “if it runs, dont touch it?”.

i have vowed many many many times, alongside many users,
that the anki version keeps moving forward, but the addon developers are not.

that’s why others and me would like some versons are long term support as ubuntu, that developers could have stay on that LTS version instead of an arm race like android developers and google<-- on file handling.

even recently, ankidroid was forced by google to migrate the storage.

it enforce v3,
upgrading anki need careful decision before hand.

concerns:

  1. v2/v3/fsrs
  2. addons
  3. ankidroid/ankimobile support the same thing?
