BUG REPORT on scaled resolution on all 26 versions

I have searched everywhere but still can not find anybody talking about this.

After upgrading to v26, on my scaled displays. I always meet this problem.

If I click the <select> element, the list will extend continuously and leave a big white area. I have attached the recording of it.

This bug does not come up if I use the 100% or 200% scale rate. But happens almost every when I use 150% or 175% scale rate. Really anonying, I have to stay at version 25 to get rid of it.

  • What type of system are you using? Windows, Mac, Linux?
  • What is the OS and version?
  • What method are you using to scale your display? (That is, if someone were to want to test this behavior, what procedure would they use to scale their display to 150% or 175%?)

You might want to try testing the other Anki video driver settings to see if any of them might result in a change in behavior. (Remember to restart Anki each time you change the video driver setting to have the change take effect.)

(Please also try the other troubleshooting steps on that page to see if any of them might help.)

  • I use Windows 11

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise
OS Version: 10.0.26200 N/A Build 26200

  • The scaling method is Windows’ built-in setting, you can find it following this path: Settings → System → Display

I tried to change Anki video driver but it doesn’t help.

I tried to change the Compatibility like below, then the bug was mitigated but fonts get blurred(which is expected).

With this compatibility testing, I believe the issue is within the application’s scaling behavior.

Thank you for that information. I don’t use Windows, but hopefully someone else might be able to check if the behavior is reproducible.

We’re aware of the issue. This also affects the date picker in the Deck Options screen.

Thank you for this message. I noticed this, but again, I thought it was just me, so I simply worked around it by creating a custom design for the drop-down list in the addon https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1599302255
It turns out I didn’t have to do that :slight_smile:
