Bug: "Open image in folder" doesn't open collection.media

I’m assuming that opening collection.media is the intended behavior. Instead it opens This PC → Documents.
Anki 24.11, Windows 10.

@dae

It correctly opens the collection.media folder for me.

See if it happens with this note

Even with this note, Anki opens the collection.media folder for me.

Welp. Guess my PC is borked then

What’s the full folder path to collection.media?

C:\Users\Andrew\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\User 1\collection.media

Presumably it’s still broken if you use a profile name without a space in it?

That actually works fine, I tried it with a different profile. But I can’t rename my current profile.

This doesn’t seem to happen on a Mac. Could you create a new test profile with a space, to confirm it’s the space and not some oddity with your User 1 folder? I ask because that might also explain the renaming issue.

Yep. I made I profile called “Test 2” and I’m having the same issue with opening the image folder as in my main profile. So it seems like it’s the whitespace that’s causing it.
EDIT: but I CAN rename “Test 2” to “Test2”. Well…

Does the issue with renaming ‘User 1’ persist when you restart your computer and then try again prior to opening the profile?

I’ve logged the original issue in Bug: “Open image in folder” doesn’t open collection.media when profile contains a space on Windows · Issue #3624 · ankitects/anki · GitHub

I am running a bunch of stuff on my PC, so it will be a while until I restart it

Nevermind, my PC went kaput while I was asleep. So now I can try renaming “User1” while starting with a different profile. And…

Have you looked at your permissions? Permission Problems - Anki Manual

They are the same for both profiles
