[BUG?] I think I found a bug in Anki’s Custom Study

When I create a custom study filtered by “is:learn”, cards show up immediately after I answer “Good”. For example, if I’m on a 10-minute learning step, I expect the card to reappear after 10 minutes. But if I click “Rebuild” on the filtered deck, the same card shows up right away instead of waiting.

For instance, if my next step is 20 minutes and I hit “Good", then immediately rebuild the deck, the card appears again without delay.

Is this intended behavior or a bug?

If your filter is pulling all cards in that state, without regard for whether they are due or not, I can’t think of any reason the cards would wait for the end of the step delay before being added to the deck.

Try using is:learn is:due instead. It should work in the way you imagine.

Thank you for your reply and help!

Is it possible to set it up so that if there are no cards with is:learn is:due, then cards with is:due will come next? I know I can set up a second filter, but then I end up seeing due cards even when there are still learning cards available. Without the second filter, there are no due cards shown, only learning cards.

Try adding a second filtered deck with -is:learn is:due after the filtered deck with is:learn is:due.

I believe you can also nest them (one under other, or both under another deck) to get is:learn is:due before is:due -is:learn.
