This happens after adding a new card:
Anki version: macOS (Apple Silicon, 2.1.62 Qt6)
BTW This was working fine. It was broken in one of the recent versions (not sure how recent)

It is a feature, not a bug. Do you see the little black pin symbol at the right side of the field? It is activated, making the field content stick. It helps tremendously when re-using content while creating notes. Just click on it to deactivate it.
