Auto advance - where to find + how to add

I am using the Anki Desktop app on MacBook Pro (23.12 version) and I’m trying to add auto advance so the answers appear after a certain amount of time, I have looked online but don’t know how to add it on or where to find it, could someone please help? Thank you in advance.

You’ll find that in your Deck Options. Deck Options - Anki Manual

From these instructions in the manual: ‘To use it, you must first set a non-zero time in “seconds to show question” and/or “seconds to show answer”. Then, in the review screen, use the Auto Advance action from the More button to start advancing.’
I can’t see any auto advance or ‘seconds to show question/answer’ button.

Those are in your Deck Options. That’s what the instructions are about.

Deck options are accessed by:

  • Clicking the gear icon on the Decks screen.
  • Selecting a deck on the Decks screen, and then clicking Options at the bottom of the screen.
  • Clicking on More > Options while in review mode.
  • Pressing o while in review mode

Some things in the manual don’t make sense if you don’t know the context. Therefore, it is better to start reading from the beginning of the section.

Thank you guys, I am just going to update my Anki anyways as the update is popping up, if I press replace when updating, will my cards get deleted?
