Auto Advance is not working

In a deck, we can set Auto Advance - to have the front viewed for max N seconds, then automatically switch to the back. Similarly for the back. This never worked for my Windows installation and recently stopped working on Android (I’ll report to AnkiDroid on GitHub).

Used version:
Version ⁨25.02.6 (6381f184)⁩
Python 3.9.18 Qt 6.6.2 PyQt 6.6.1

Steps:

  • open deck options
  • In “Auto Advance” section set:
    • “Seconds to show question for” to 2s
    • “Seconds to show answer for” to 2s
    • “Wait for audio” off
    • “Question action” - “Show answer”
    • “Answer action” - “Show reminder”
  • Save
  • Enter the deck

Expected outcome:

  • The answer will be shown after 2s.
  • The reminder will be shown after another 2s.

Actual outcome:

  • The question/front is shown infinitely (I checked).

On Anki Desktop you need to toggle auto advance each time you want to study. AnkiDroid was changed recently to match this behavior.
