Can anyone clarify when AnkiDroid is likely to have a new release on the play store?
There was a comment on Reddit yesterday by one of the devs which suggests it’s not happening soon. And a followup post suggested that the problem was that AnkiDroid uses an obsolete and now forbidden way to access file storage. (captured in this GitHub issue - Enhancement: AnkiDroid should not use Storage permission (Deadline November 2021) · Issue #5304 · ankidroid/Anki-Android · GitHub). I understand that Google won’t allow a new release until that’s fixed. Is that right?
