After updating to AnkiMobile 25.07 on my iPhone, I get a “TypeError: Load Failed” error when accessing Deck Options. This issue didn’t occur in previous versions. How can I fix it?
I seem to have further identified the cause of this error message.
It occurs specifically when I set a date in the “Advanced: Ignore Cards Reviewed Before” within Deck Options. Resetting this date to its default value (January 1, 1970) resolves the issue. Does this mean the option is unusable?
This feature is crucial for me, as my card review methodology changed significantly before a certain date. I switched from using only “Again” and “Hard” for a year to using “Again” and “Good” to review cards.
Now that you’ve cleared that date, it sounds like you’re able to open Options in AnkiMobile. Can you put the date back in there and save it?
Yes, I can put the date back in there and save it. However, when I do so, the same error message reappears. As long as this date is set to a non-default value, the error will occur.
Just to confirm – you’re only getting this error on AnkiMobile? With the date set how you want it, Options in desktop Anki open just fine?
Have you run Check Database lately (on either device)?
I have not yet used the latest version (25.07) of the desktop Anki, so I do not know if the same issue exists. However, I have not encountered this issue in version 25.02 of the desktop Anki.
Yes, I have run “Check Database” several times recently.
I’m seeing the same thing in AnkiMobile 25.07 when the “Ignore cards with reviews before” option is set.
Thank you both! AnkiMobile 25.07 was just released a few days ago, so I’m sure @dae will want to take a look.
Thank you for the report! A fix has been sent to Apple, and will hopefully become available within 24 hours.
