Anki quit unexpectedly - issue with opening new app download

I have a Mac with the M1 chip and Big Sur (v 11.0) and was happily using an older version of Anki when today I decided to upgrade to 23.10 Qt6. When I try to open the new version of Anki, it gives me this message:

I then downloaded an older version to try and go back to what I had, but it would give me an error message when trying to restore an older backup. I found a solution online but unfortunately that involves me being able to open the newer version of Anki to select the Downgrade and Quit option. Please help! This all started because my mobile versions made me upgrade the scheduler and I wanted the scheduling software to match up between all my devices.

This should work, or you could update your OS.
