Is it still incrementing? That means it’s still syncing. It’s not uncommon if you have added a lot of new media.
But it’s fine to click Close and let it continue syncing in the background.
100 in 3 hours makes me think it might be stuck - is the 100 changing at all? You could try aborting and then syncing again to see if that helps.
