ANKI BACKUPS: How do I get access to all my profiles?

Good Afternoon,
I recently got a new laptop and went to backup my anki as I have two profile on my Anki but only one profiles Ankis are showing up how do I recover the other one?

Did you have them synced to separate AnkiWeb accounts? Each AnkiWeb account can only sync a single profile. So if you weren’t syncing with AnkiWeb, you’ll have to retrieve your other profile from your old computer.

Thanks for your reply!
I cant retrieve it from the old computer even though I have the local disk and Anki automatically saves it to the local disk is there anywhere I can find it as I am slightly confused.

There should be files. You’ll have to look on you other laptop though, where you used anki before.

My other laptop is no longer turning on thats the problem I retrieved the files using an external drive but the automatic backups arent present on the local drive.

When you retrieved the files from your old computer, did you include the Anki2 collection folder in that?

it hasnt shown up yet no, but i still have my old computer so I could always try again and see

If you never synced the other profile with AnkiWeb, then that’s the only place it exists.

Good Afternoon, I found the Anki two collection folders how do i extract the flashcards because its telling me to open them from word?

All you have to do is copy the missing profile folder into the Anki2 folder of your new laptop. The cards itself are in a sqlite3 database, which you cannot edit using a normal office program (though you could use something like db browser if you really wanted to. I’d advice against it though).

Excellent!
