I know this has been posted before but the thread was locked, and I just noticed something that I thought might be helpful in figuring out the problem/solution. That being when it gets “stuck” so to speak and it does not close, it does not sync. Usually there’s a final sync before it closes, well, when it doesn’t that final sync does not occur. I hope that helps.
Please let us know if the issue still exists after the next beta build is released.
Will do!
RC1 seems to have fixed it. So far so good!
I have to say though sometimes it closes rather abruptly, it doesn’t even sync. It’s almost like it was forced closed. If I just open Anki without opening a deck, it does the “checking” sync as it always had and then closes. If I open a deck, then it does the almost instant forced close.
I think it has to do with the fix for this in this PR: Ignore errors in do_window_cleanup to fix shutdown issue by abdnh · Pull Request #3142 · ankitects/anki · GitHub
Probably errors out at the first two timers, and it never really ends up at the backend timer block because of the try/catch? Not sure.
I can’t seem to reproduce this. If it still happens with the next rc, please let us know.
