Forgot to report this earlier: Copying from the editor puts something like

in the clipboard.
If you have more than 2 learning steps, the middle steps now repeat the current step, instead of being the average of the previous and current step.
It should probably be mentioned that this is about the Hard button.
Great work, as usual, thanks all
Full screen mode is still buggy in my system (W10) when using the qt6 version: menus are not responding (neither on the main screen nor on the browser screen), thereās some strong screen flickering, and after clicking on āBrowserā, the browser screen gets hidden behind the main screen.
I wasnāt aware of that until now, but I can partially reproduce it:
Sadly, itās the same with Qt5.
Qt5 works well for me.
Apparently, the issue is only with OpenGL. You probably have set a different driver, which is why you donāt experience any glitches with the Qt5 build. In the Qt6 one, there is no such option.
Youāre right, I was using Angle, but I can replicate the problem with Qt5 when using OpenGL.
Great job as always! I noticed that the hotkey for āAdd Tagsā cmd-shift-t
doesnāt work anymore.

Great update.Does using this beta version have any effect on the normal use of the iOS version(Mainly in terms of card arrangement)? @dae
Great work, I was able to convert my import PyQt5ās into aqt.qt without much difficulty for HyperTTS (and will do AwesomeTTS and Language Tools next), that was less effort than I expected. Itās great to be able to get ahead of this release. Super excited for the new Anki TTS tag, which iāll add to HyperTTS pretty much right away after 2.1.50 is out.
- The HTML editor now matches the current Anki theme.
Iām not too crazy about this change. I would rather the HTML theme not be tied to the theme of the whole computer (or rather, the theme of Anki, which is optionally tied to the theme of the whole computer). I use the normal light theme for the computer, but I still use certain pro apps and coding to be dark.
The light versus dark in a text input is ingrained in my mind as my clue as to whether I am working with āregular textā (a rich text editor in many cases) or in code. In Anki, it really helps to distinguish which mode I am currently viewing. I also think the syntax highlighting does not stand out nearly so well in the current light mode as it did previously.
I would be interested in what the opinions of others are, but I would suggest either the code is always dark (thus revert the change) or allow the code editor to have a selectable theme. For now that might be simply Light|Dark|Auto (the last of which follows the app setting). Possibly in the future the themes could be extendable, but I would not care too much about that personally.
I donāt know if this is new, but I only just now noticed this. When exporting a deck and saving it as the same name as an existing file (thus to overwrite it), there are two warnings about overwriting an existing file. The first is from the system, and I it appears the second is from Anki.
I am on macOS 12.1.
Drag & drop is apparently broken across the entire program. Qt events are not being received. I tested in the editor and the main window with both the qt5 and qt6 builds on Windows. Reproducible in the latest main. Interestingly, I tested in Windows Sandbox and had no issue there, so maybe something is wrong with my system.
UPDATE: the issue disappeared after a restart (possibly fixed after I downloaded the latest Windows updates).

Sorry to nitpick (and Iām not sure if this is intentional behavior), but when I create a MathJax Chemistry inset (using ām,c
on mac) the cursor is placed outside the chemistry portion, like this:
\ce{}^
where ^
represents the cursor placement

The only issue I can think of is that some of the new card gather/sort orders have changed in v3. If you find you need to select a different option after updating, that may result in a different order appearing in AnkiMobile. An AnkiMobile beta is available now that matches the behaviour of 2.1.50beta3.
Added to consider an option for altering html editor theme Ā· Issue #1671 Ā· ankitects/anki Ā· GitHub
Nitpicking is fine, we canāt fix things we donāt know about Not sure if this will be an easy or a tricky fix though; @hengiesel will know more.
Hello, when I use cloze with lists, It is added a
ā<brā>
, literally breaking the phrase.
A few problems that Iāve recently noticed:
Sometimes new notes are placed in their parent deck rather than the deck selected. I havenāt been able to work out a pattern as to when this is occurring although I believe it may be occurring when the note type is changed. Possibly itās auto changing the deck but not updating the UI.
If a card is show, and then the time ticks over to the next day, an error is shown when the card is answered. Iām afraid I didnāt capture the error (in my defence, it was 5am) but itās obviously due to the day being off. Perhaps kicking the user back to the overview with a tooltip or showInfo to let them know that the day has ticked over would be the best way to solve this, since that would head off issues that could crop up in the future with day changes while reviewing.
The card counts are often off by a small amount in the deck browser. For example see below, where it shows the deck as being finished, except opening the overview shows that itās not. Iāve seen this go both directions (e.g. the deck browser can show more or less than the correct amount). Itās not sibling related in this case as the cards in this deck (ę±čÆåå) donāt have any siblings. I think it might be occurring with cards that are on their last relearn step and therefore arenāt being captured by either column in the deck browser, though that doesnāt explain how the deck browser is sometimes reporting too high a number of cards. Iāve noticed the issue occurring in this direction with Ultimate Geography cards, so possibly a separate, sibling related issue since they often have buried siblings, but itās hard to be sure (identifying the offending card requires me to go back to the deck browser after every review, which is somewhat inconvenient). I can share a deck with scheduling and note the day where I noticed it occurring if that would help. I also noticed the third issue on my other laptop running Anki 2.1.49, so presumably itās V3 Scheduler related.
Possibly related to the last issue, Iāve noticed that when using is:review
while searching for cards (e.g. in the browser or using col.find_cards()
) I also get cards from the learning queue that are on their last learning step. I would have thought for consistency is:review
should return cards only from the review queue and is:learn
should return cards from the learning queue.
MacOS Monterey 12.1, Anki 2.1.50 Beta 3 (Mac, PyQt6.2)
Also for the third issue:
macOS Big Sur, Anki 2.1.49
Update:
Regarding the third issue, I tried it built form source and saw this in the overview so I assume itās a known issue? The deck browser is still showing no cards due.
As stated in the manual, is:review
includes relearning cards.
The grey number is supposed to help explain the difference between the counts in the deck overview screen and in the deck tree screen due to burying. Yesterday, I discovered an issue with it (Fix bury count by RumovZ Ā· Pull Request #1678 Ā· ankitects/anki Ā· GitHub), so you can ignore it for now.
In your case, the deck overview count is lower than the count in the tree, which isnāt related to burying. In my experience, this happens when intraday learning cards become due. Refreshing the deck tree may help.
