Adding Templates

Hello everybody,

I am not sure if it is called Templates what I need but I will describe what I want to do:
In Japanese I have 4 Fields:
Root
Te Form
Masu
English
I created them and they all show up in Edit Current with the words I input. I have no problems to format the cards (with type in the answer) but what I can not find is the continuation:
In the Front Template, I type the answer and at the back, it shows me if I was right, and when I click Enter, it advances to the next word. But what I would like is that a new Template opens with the same Root word and I need to type in the answer for Masu form

I found lots of tutorials but they were all rather confusing

Thank you.

Dorian

What you have is a note with 4 fields:
Root
Te Form
Masu
English

Now, from that note, you can create two different card types:

Card 1
Root
Te Form
English

Card 2
Root
Masu
English

To add a second card type, go to Browser > cards and then:

Great cqg,
I will try that.
Thank you very much!

I have created the 2nd card, but it does not show it.
When I press Enter only the Te-Form card shows up
I don’t know how I can activate the 2nd card to show up after the first one.

Please tell me what I am missing out.
Thank you!

You can control the order new cards will appear in with the reposition command.

Make sure the “Bury new siblings” option (in the deck options) is deactivated.

oh Thank you… out of a strange reason, both cards show up now, but in different orders, which would be ok.
I have another problem:
As I mentioned I have 4 fields: Root, Te-Form, Masu Form and English.
Now those 4 fields apply to all my decks and I wanted to create an other deck and again all 4 Fields show up. How would I have those Fields only for that deck alone?

Change the note type for the new cards.

Take a look here, understanding these concepts is important in order to use the program:

Thank you for the links. I will try to study them but I find them very confusing.
