Adding cloze note with audio attachment does not depopulate the field once note has been added

Sorry for the clunky topic name. But since upgrading to the most recent version of Anki (Version ⁨25.02.4 (a5c33ad0)⁩) I have encountered this bug when trying to add new cards.

Basically, if I add a cloze note with an attachment in the Audio field, the note will be added correctly but the Expression field will remain populated with the data from the note I just added.

Adding a note like this:

…leads to the note like this with the Expression field already populated with the data from the previously-entered note and a warning that this is a duplicate, instead of being blank:

This means that before adding a new note, I have to delete the contents of this field. It’s not the worst bug in the world but it does add a bit of friction when adding new notes, and is not something that I encountered with the previous Anki builds.

I have started Anki with all addons disabled yet still get this bug, as well as restarting my computer (I’m on Linux, if that makes any difference). This bug also does not affect cloze notes where the audio is not in its own separate field. So for example, adding this note:

…will properly clear the fields for the next note:

That pin button that you see is what is causing this. It’s for sticky fields - meaning that the stuff is carried over to the next card you add.

It can be applied on a per-field basis for each notetype that you have. The contents are retained within the same session of the add window (once you open it, till you close it).

Ohhhh thank you! I must have accidentally clicked it and not realized, since I didn’t even know this function existed. It’s weird that even restarting Anki and my computer didn’t seem to untoggle it, so maybe it carries across sessions now. Anyway thank you so much, this was driving me up the wall!!

Yes, sticky fields carries over (even through different versions of Anki, like AnkiDroid and Anki Mobile IIRC)
