When making new cards, Anki suddenly started copying the card information

Hello,

I have made thousands of Anki cards. Mostly Cloze. I am using a Mac, Big Sur, Updated. Also using Anki Version ⁨2.1.49 (dc80804a)⁩.

Over these last few days, when I save a new card, the card saves appropriately, but the text of the card is also copied forward into a new card. Imagine saving a card that said “XXXXXxxxxxXXXX”. When I hit the add button, the card saves appropriately, but the text “XXXXXxxxxxXXXX” shows up again in the text box of the subsequent card in the Adding cards panel. As you know when this happens the box turns red to indicate that duplicate text is noticed. I am able to delete the text and keep adding cards in an appropriate manner, but this poses a decent inconvenience especially when making 100’s of cards.

This happens when I hit the Add button, and also when I save using “Command + return”. I have restarted Anki and my computer.
