Window not closing after adding card on anki

I am experiencing an issue where newly created flashcards are not disappearing from the “Add” screen after I add them to my deck in Anki. Normally, after a card is added, it should vanish from the “Add” window and the next card creation form should be ready, but the current card remains visible until I manually delete it.

What i have tried

  • looked at all the settings but couldnt find “Close window after adding card,”
  • Cleared cache and restarted Anki.
  • deleted and reinstalled anki
  • Tried using a different deck, but the issue continues.
  • Verified no conflicting settings in Anki preferences.

I am on a macbook pro and would appreciate any help!

Do you have sticky fields? There’s a pin icon in the window near every field which makes the text stick even after the card is created.
