Activating FSRS

I have been having trouble implementing FSRS. I followed online tutorials to go to Options, toggled the FSRS on, set the desired retention at 90%, optimized the current preset, and saved the settings. I also downloaded the FSRS Helper addon and clicked “Reschedule all cards”.

Initially I thought this would work, especially because my Stats showed that the number of cards due in the next several days had been adjusted and much more evened out. However, when I go back to my cards, almost all of which are Young (review rather than learning phase), I found that the time intervals for them remain identical to before. I’m wondering if someone could help me debug?

I’m using Anki version 25.02.7. My new cards/day and maximum reviews/day are both set to 9999. My new cards learning steps is 10m and lapses relearning steps is also 10m. Any help would be appreciated!

Everything that you’ve doing sounds fine.

[Rescheduling generally isn’t recommended when you turn on FSRS for the first time, because it can result in a significant backlog of overdue cards. But it sounds like it turned out fine for you, so there’s no harm there.]

Can you be more specific about where you’re looking and what you’re comparing that appears identical to before?

Yes. So my card intervals for some reason are 10m, 5d, 5d, 5d (no distinction between Hard to Easy). I was trying to fix this by implementing FSRS. But after implementing FSRS the intervals for all my cards are still 10m, 5d, 5d, 5d, which makes me think it somehow hasn’t taken effect.

Could it by any chance that your maximum interval is 5?
