A myriad of rookie questions

Hi y’all,
Fairly a new anki user (have been using it for about 2 months of 2nd year of med school after making the switch from quizlet). After searching online on prior forums, reddit pages, etc my problems have either been solved in ways that dont work for me, or have been answered in other places I have not seen.
I am running Version ⁨2.1.45 on a mac running macOs big sur 11.5.2

First issue - Image occlusion works for me except: whenever I make a card (hide all guess one or hide one guess one) my deck automatically changes, the tags stay but I have to manually go back to the browser and change the deck. Theres no specific deck that it goes into but its never the same one I have it set to when adding cards.

Relating to tags- I cant seem to figure out how to use hierarchal tags2 add-on. I have downloaded the add on enabled it, and nothing has changed as far organizing tags in browse (I want to have a folder for each class in browse, so if there is another way to do this, please let me know).

I do have some other questions but these 2 seem to be the most annoying and what I would like to figure out first. Thank you in advance

I can’t help you with the first issue since I don’t use “Image Occlusion” add-on.

Relating to tags, I don’t think you need the “Hierarchical tags 2” add-on, Anki already has the function built in since 2.1.41.

I forgot to mention you can drag and drop tags in order to make them hierarchical too.

Make sure you have the “Select” mode on.
