Why do FSRS Simulator memorized card numbers surpass the deck’s total card count, and what indicates full mastery of all cards?

On this FSRS Simulator panel for a deck of 4,500 cards:

1.Why is the final memorized card count larger than the full number of cards in the deck?

2.Does full mastery mean reaching the flat inflection point on the orange curve or just having more memorized cards than the deck’s full card count?

You probably have more than one deck with this preset. The simulator considers all the cards in those decks.

The “memorized” graph represents the sum of the probabilities of recall of the cards on a given day.

So with higher DR, you should get a higher flat line at the end. There’s no such thing as full mastery.

Let’s start with this –

  • Where are you getting this figure from?
  • Is that how many active cards you have (that you’re already studying)? Or how many total cards exist in the deck?
  • Is that deck the only one that uses this preset?

Thank you so much, this is really insightful!

Many thanks! Your reply pinpointed exactly where the problem lies.
