Volume drop on multitasking using AnkiMobile on iPad

I’ve noticed a curious new bug recently where the volume from video playing on my iPad drops by about 20–25 % when I bring up AnkiMobile. I’m not sure if it’s a new bug, but I’ve only noticed it in the last week or so.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Play video (e.g. a YouTube video)
  2. Slide up slightly from bottom of screen to make Dock appear
  3. Drag AnkiMobile icon to right side of screen to make an AnkiMobile column appear in Slide Over

Result: Volume of video playing drops by about 20–25 %. If Slide Over AnkiMobile is slid off screen, the volume pops up to normal again.

The same happens if video is playing as PiP and I bring up AnkiMobile as the main focus app.

I’m using AnkiMobile 2.0.91 on an iPad Air 5 running iPadOs 16.3.1.

Have you turned on ‘always duck+ignore mute’ in AnkiMobile’s settings?

You’re right; for some reason that option was turned on. After turning it off, the volume lowering has disappeared :slight_smile:
