Video Flashcards — Chrome extension for reviewing Anki cards beside Netflix and YouTube

Hi everyone,

I recently released Video Flashcards.

This is not an Anki add-on itself, but a Chrome extension that works with Anki Desktop through AnkiConnect.

The idea is simple:
instead of reviewing subtitle-based cards separately from the original video, Video Flashcards lets you review the Anki card directly beside Netflix or YouTube and replay the exact subtitle line connected to that card.

Main features:

  • Review Anki cards in a Chrome side panel beside the video
  • Replay the current, previous, or next subtitle line
  • Jump back to the exact video moment stored in the card
  • Switch Anki decks from the side panel
  • Export subtitle lines for Anki card creation
  • Works in standalone mode
  • Optional compatibility with Language Reactor for users who already use it

Requirements:

  • Anki Desktop
  • AnkiConnect add-on
  • Chrome browser
  • Netflix or YouTube video with subtitles

Pricing:

  • The first 200 reviewed cards are free
  • Continued access is available through paid PRO plans

Links:

  • Chrome Web Store: Search for Video Flashcards
  • Website: in Chrome Web Store click privacy policy link.
  • Setup guide: included on website

I built this mainly for my own language-learning workflow, where I wanted Anki review to stay connected to the original scene instead of becoming isolated flashcards.

Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are very welcome.
