For some reason, I keep getting the same cards everyday. I am using FSRS but my intervals are really short and it’s becoming really difficult for me to catch up with my cards:
I had some friends look over my settings, and they said nothing looked wrong. However, it has only been my 3rd week of consistently Anki-ing, and I only recently stopped pressing easy for a lot of things because I heard that messes up the algorithm, but I’m not 100% sure because I couldn’t find anything too reliable about this.
Anyway, it is extremely overwhelming as I now have 400 review cards, and 80 new cards daily. I cannot keep up with everything.
I have also been trying to click “optimize all presets” and “optimize current preset”, and it’s not letting me. When I click optimize all presets, it begins to for a split second, then takes me out of the settings. And this is what happens when I click optimize current preset:

That’s a really high daily New card limit. You should generally anticipate your daily workload to be about 8-10x your daily New cards. If you can’t handle that, you need to lower your daily New to a reasonable level.
That means that this preset isn’t being used by the decks/subdecks that your cards are actually in – it’s likely an empty parent deck. If you look at the top of the Options window, the title bar will tell you which deck you have selected, and the drop-down will show you how many decks this preset applies to. If you want the subdecks under this deck to use this preset, try “Save to All Subdecks.”
You definitely want your parameters optimized for how you actually perform when you study, so that will help. But given that your intervals are so low, I’m wondering how you’re studying now. For instance, are you grading your cards honestly and accurately – and using the grading buttons correctly? Seeing screenshots of your Stats > Answer Buttons and Stats > Retention might tell us more about what’s going on – as well as seeing your newly optimized parameters, as text please.
Hello, I am MCATting, so my advisor told me to do 80 new cards per day to ensure I’m ready by test day. I can definitely reduce, but I am falling behind because I have to learn 1-2 new chapters a day, and I am unable to keep up with the volume of cards, since I’m getting every single card every day from previous chapters.
Also thank you, I have changed it to save to all subdecks. It says the FSRS parameters currently appear to be optimal.
I only recently started using good for most things; before, I was pressing the easy button a lot since the intervals were so short. I will be more conscious about how I am answering now!
