UTF-8 error message

I have been trying to use my AMBOSS add-on on my Anki app but it keeps saying that the selected file is not in UTF-8 format. How can I solve this?

You need to find out if the file is in UTF-8 format.

It is difficult to troubleshoot your issue without more information. A screenshot of the error message would help.

I can only guess that you may have downloaded one of the fake AMBOSS add-ons from Ankiweb.

Fake AMBOSS add-ons

There are currently 11 AMBOSS add-ons listed on Add-ons for Anki 2.1 - AnkiWeb. Only one seems to be the the AMBOSS add-on. Some housekeeping would be helpful.

Have you downloaded the official version from the AMBOSS website?

My guess is you’re trying to import the add-on, which is not how add-ons should be loaded - please make sure you follow the instructions the add-on author provided you.
